Schools opened Wednesday in Mamaroneck with some students reuniting after the summer and some parents struggling to say goodbye to their kids for the day. At Murrray Avenue School, the first day of school was complicated by a construction project on the Murray Avenue side stairs, which wasn't completed in time for the opening of school due to an issue with the original contractor.
